The problem is so many people are trying to resist changeNo matter what you do change is going to happen. Things are going to happen, the problem is I see so many people trying to resist change and I can see the pain that it causes! That used to be me, I didn’t like change I needed specific outcomes but now having learned the harsh lessons of life she has taught me that change is there for a reason. Change is there so we can develop and learn the lessons we need to so we can evolve. There are two ways you can deal with change.1 - You can resist it and be hell-bent on not developing. This is where I see the pain. If we don’t develop or improve we get left behind. I suspect if you look around you in your work, business or even with friends you will see people that don’t evolve and develop, they always talk about the past and how good it was and yearn for those times to come back. They talk about how unfair everything is now and how things have changed for the worst and it’s just not the same anymore. When you study these types of people, you can hear the negativity, this is because they refuse to bend, they refuse to be flexible and you can see the pain as they resist and do not want to move. They blame everything else apart from the one person who can change it all themselves. They blame everything else apart from the one person who can change it all themselves. But this is all about self-awareness and I am so happy that mine is evolving all the time and I want other people to experience it. You can embrace it2 - You can embrace it. Have you studied people who have embraced change? It doesn’t mean that they don’t feel the pain because they do, they know they’ve got to get to work and learn the lessons. Again you’ve probably seen this in your work, career and the people you mix with. Who would you rather be around with? People who blame or people who keep swinging, who keep trying, who keep coming back for more, the people who refuse to be defeated even though they lost the battle they are aiming to win the war! I know which group I want to belong to, but I have to keep on point as I could easily slip back into the blame game. You need to think about your perspective! You see this life is here to give us an experience. Yes, some experiences are good and some are not, but it all depends on how you look at it, you need to think about your perspective! Life will throw so much at you that you have to be prepared you have to keep growing. Life is coming for you, she’s going to whisper in your ear when things are about to change and you need to listen to it. If you don’t listen to it then she’ll start shouting at you and she’ll display this through the changes that happen. The reason is they didn’t adapt quickly enoughWhen you look around you, you can see all this change happening all the time. Think about the revolution of the internet. We had these traditional shops like Debenhams, ( if you’re not British you may not know this company is) Debenhams is a mainstream store and has had to close many shops due to the competition on the internet. The reason is they didn’t adapt quickly enough, life was telling them things are about to change but they didn’t listen, the result shop closures, redundancies and hell of a lot of pain. You can probably think of so many examples of businesses or people who have adapted and have embraced change. You can probably think of so many examples of businesses or people who have adapted and have embraced change. For me, companies like Amazon, Facebook and people like Elon Musk have just embraced everything and are still hell-bent on improving all the time. I think we can learn great lessons from these businesses and people. We can adopt their mindset and see what it takes to make sure that you stay relevant, that you keep your skills on point and you make sure that you learn the lessons that change and life are bringing you. As I said before it’s not that these people and companies don’t feel the pain they just embrace it and now you can see how successful they are. I take a lot of courage from the fact that if you try and if you remain open-minded life is there for you to win I take a lot of courage from the fact that if you try and if you remain open-minded life is there for you to win, every day is an opportunity. We only have a limited amount of time to deal with the changes before it hits us hard. When I look at successful people they don’t waste any time, they recognise that time is a very valuable asset and value it above everything else. No matter how rich you are you can never ever buy more TIME! We’re all given the same amount of time each day it’s how you use itYou see we’re all given the same amount of time each day it’s how you use it to prepare for the changes that are coming. They’re coming so thick and fast that we all need to be switched on and ready to embrace what’s going to happen. With 5G and all the modern technology accelerating at such a rate, we need to be at the front of that curve knowing how it can serve us and improve us. With so much free resource out there on the internet, there has never been a better time to improve yourself, the resources are endless, you just have to commit yourself to improve every single day. I now demand this of myself even when I don’t feel like it, and I can tell you sometimes I don’t feel like doing it at all. But I have a mission I have a purpose to help and coach people and if I’m going to do that I have to develop and evolve so I can give you the best version of my coaching so you get where you want to be! That’s how you embrace change by leaning into it and learning from the experience That’s how you embrace change by leaning into it and learning from the experience to GROW. You’re not always going to win and that’s the point because that’s where the lessons are. If you enjoyed this blog please share it with as many people as possible and don’t forget to comment.
