What’s next and what should we be doing with the experience we have just been through? The project is coming to a close and my leaders are starting to get their accreditations and I’m super proud of what they have achieved. But is it the end for us all in terms of the challenge? What’s next and what should we be doing with the experience we have just been through? If you’ve been following the blog then you will know it’s been super tough and my leaders and myself have had some really tough challenges but we’ve come through it. If you’ve not caught up go back and read the previous blogs and you will see the journey! To answer the question when you think it’s the end it’s not, this is only the beginning! Where do we all go from here? Well, it’s all about continuing to build on the momentum of that learning, it’s continuing to practice all we have learned throughout conversations and driving performance to make sure that we continue to improve. To answer the question when you think it’s the end it’s not, this is only the beginning! It’s like practice, you’ve practised had some hard knocks now it’s onto the real game of continuing to use the tools and practices that you learned and to experiment. You need to innovate and find new ways to help people and their teams, finding out even more about how people tick to help them perform and find meaning in their work. This is what the whole project has been about and it’s not only the people that we have all been leading this also speaks a lot to us. We have been changed by the experience and now it’s all about how we continue to grow and just be better. It’s remembering that failure is learning and that the emotions that we get are normal Yes sure mistakes were made and at times I thought we weren’t going to make it, but we did because we were persistent and tried even despite the fear and doubt because that’s where humans thrive best. It’s remembering that failure is learning and that the emotions that we get are normal, it’s just becoming aware that we are going to have these emotions when we come up against fear, but we act despite the fear. That’s where true leadership and inspiration comes from, to just try and do something instead of just freezing in the headlights of fear. So all of this comes down to one thing and that’s taking actionIf we recognise that every time we feel fear it really is a signal for action then we won’t go far wrong. I love the stress or decision tree where you have a problem and ask yourself, is what I’m worried about in my control? If it is then do something, if not then why worry! I just love that, so all of this comes down to one thing and that’s taking action. At the same time as remembering that if you’re getting the same results then it’s time to change the actions, madness is just doing the same things and expecting different results. We all know this intellectually but do we know this in the moment of our emotions? You have something great inside you and you need to let this out into the world despite your fear. The key is self-awareness and reflection so you can really analyse where you are and where you want to be and what action you need to take next. It’s never the end when you think it’s the end, remember it’s only the beginning and you want to be growing forever because that’s what fires up the human spirit and the human potential. You have something great inside you and you need to let this out into the world despite your fear. So now is your time to face your fear and to really let the world know what you’re about. I still haven’t completed the project fully, unless there is a really big hiccup then all should go to plan. I will let you know, but as we said this is only the beginning!
As always stay inspired!
