Today it’s about limits and how we perceive our own limits; you’ve heard the saying shoot for the stars and you may land on the moon. So what are our own limits? I have thought about this, read about it and talked about it and what I have realised that our limits are set by the thoughts we have about ourselves and what we think we can achieve. This has been a casing point in my life, I never thought I could write a blog each week, record a video everyday for the last 5 months. If I would have thought about that in the beginning I would have considered it impossible. How could I think about different types of content each morning? But I’ve done it and that’s all to do with the limits we set ourselves. This also goes back to a time when I was interested in coaching, I didn’t have a website, I had zero followers and no traction on any social media. Now I have followers, I have engagement on social media and again it all comes from just doing. Your mind will try and tell you what you are not capable of, but deep down you know you are capable of more, you are just afraid to try. When we let fear dictate what we truly want to do we then limit ourselves, and our thoughts about our limited capabilities are confirmed. So there are two elements here, there are our thoughts, and our fear! First of all we need to start to change our thoughts and build up belief about ourselves; secondly we need to step into the fear and start to prove to ourselves that we are capable of more. I know this to be true because that is what I have been doing over the last 5 months; I never would have dreamed about writing about this 5 months ago and you can do the same. What is your passion, what is it that lights you up? What’s stopping you from doing it? You just need to take a chance, change your thought and take a step towards your fear. Once you have done this you will start to prove to your own mind that you are capable, and that you can push your own limits. My belief is that we set our own limits in our mind, and what we can truly accomplish comes out of us being brave enough to put ourselves on the line to do what we were truly meant to do on this planet. So how can we start to unlock our limits? Try these 3 steps. 1 - Surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to do. This does not have to be physical, go onto YouTube and start watching content about those people. Start reading books about the thing that you want to do. There is so much information out there you just need to start looking. What is it that they're doing that you could do in your own way? 2-Start to change your thoughts. Tell yourself you are good enough and that you can just start doing at least one thing that will start you on your journey. 3 - Make a plan and take at least one action each day that moves you toward the thing you want to do and record it in a journal. Write your limiting thoughts down and then write down an opposing thought that will challenge the limiting one to start to change the way you think.
