Being happy does make a differenceWe are all after happiness, being happy does make a difference, we all chase it all the time but why does it not stay with us all the time Wouldn’t it be great to be happy all the time, but I realise that this is not realistic. There is always going to be something that comes along to challenge the happiness and this challenges us and our resilience to find what the lessons are in our lives. Things that come along that disrupt the harmony As an example last week my cat passed away very suddenly she was loved and we miss having her around. We were all happy then this came along and suddenly this disrupted the harmony in the family, it set off a wave of grief. So there was a challenge and we as a family needed to challenge it and recognise what was happening. Firstly we had to recognise the grieving process, which is still going on but it lessens as time goes by. I don’t believe it ever goes away, but what I do believe is that you live with that part of your life and practice an acceptance of it, that way you can move on continue with your life. So we just remember the good times, the pleasure she gave us and the little habits she used to have that made us smile. This bonded us as a family and we could remember this collectively, so having people who are going through a similar process can help lessen the effects of grief. Now are we truly happy now? I would say not massively happy but we are getting there and I can safely say that it’s because of writing this blog and producing other content which keeps me focussed and is also a processing mechanism. I realise that as I write I am helping myself and in turn I hope this will help you! Find the lesson in your experiences So when we have events like this being happy in my opinion is finding the lesson, remembering times when things were good and what added value and joy to your life. In the event of death it can be very hard to be happy and it’s going to be a process but it’s possible to be happy again with time. Why Possessions don’t give you meaning or purpose |
