What is your REALITY & can you change it?
This is something that really struck me last night when watch the Jonathan Ross show, Keanu Reeves and Russell Brand were starring. Both of these celebrities had been involved in shaping realities, Keanu with his film the Matrix and Rusell Brand on the show commenting that everyones' reality is different. I agree with the view that you shape your reality, for example the way you see the world would be totally different to the way I see it due to our own values and beliefs. So the question then follows that if we do not like our reality can we change it? The answer is a resounding YES! When I discovered coaching back in 2007 it totally changed my reality and view of the world as I had been exposed to it, by you reading this blog now it is already changing your reality; you will either agree with the content or not and by making that decision you are already changing your reality! How powerful is that! All the choices and actions you take shape your reality and have lead you to this point reading this blog. As a coach it is my duty to understand your reality as coaching can assist you in changing your reality to the way you want it. Your reality in its current form may include a challenge that you are finding difficult to deal with, with coaching this can assist you in dealing with that challenge and therefore creating a new reality where you have dealt with that challenge. So in the style of the Matrix you become the creator instead of thinking that you are stuck in the reality you are currently in. Your perception of the world is totally individual to you, and whether you consider something is difficult or easy is down to how you think about the world around you. Here are some questions to ask yourself to see whether you actually like where you are at the moment in respect of your current reality. 1) If you were able to change anything in your life with the click of your fingers instantly, what would you change? 2) What type of reality would you like to create? 3) How could you start to create the reality you want? 4) Plan one action step that you could do tomorrow to move you toward that reality. So start changing your reality, small steps little and often can often lead to massive changes, so try this out and see how you get on.
