When you think things are against you it’s just a perspectiveWhen you think things are against you it’s just a perspective, it’s a reality you’ve constructed around you based on the beliefs and values you have taken on board throughout your entire life. Everything you’ve done up to this point and every decision you’ve made is off the back of those values and beliefs. Now they can hold you back or they can serve you! So what are you going to do? First of all, you need to examine those beliefs and values. What do you currently believe about the world? So before you do anything else write a list of your belief’s. What do you currently believe about the world? Some people think the world is against them and some think it’s a friendly place it’s really up to you. Yes, bad things happen but what do you look for? Do you look at all the negativity when something bad happens or do you look for the lessons so you can become stronger and more resilient? You see successful people don’t moan about the situation and even if they do, they recognise it then try and do something about it. They recognise the lessons and go into problem-solving mode. That’s what makes them stand out, that’s why they succeed because they love solving problems. They’re creators and when you think about it humans are meant to create, you are meant to try and solve problems. Doesn’t it stand to reason that the human race develops technology so quickly is because humans are good at solving problems and everyone has the capability, you’ve just got to decide whether you’re going to be a problem solver or someone who sits on the sidelines waiting for someone else to solve the problem. It’s about attempting to solve problemsIt’s all about taking those steps and attempting to solve problems. Even if you don’t solve the problem you can be proud of the effort you’ve put in. You can look at it and say “at least I had a go” you would not have regretted it. This is why we are built the way we are. Just have a go, if needed go do some research! How can I make more money? One of the most common questions people ask is how can I make more money? The answer is solving problems, if you want to make more and more money you need to solve bigger problems. If you want to earn £1,000,000, you have to solve a £1,000,000 problem, stands to reason, doesn’t it! People don’t want to commit time and effort The issue is that people don’t want to commit the time and effort and the people who do are the ones that succeed, the ones that stick with it when everyone around them is saying “give up” you’ll never achieve that. The point is you can decide on your perspective. You can give in and go with the status quo and the average level of thinking, or you can decide that enough is enough and you are going to make different choices. You will no longer be satisfied with sitting on the sidelines waiting for others, you’re going to jump in even if you think things may be against you because you now know deep down that this problem was put there for you to solve. Life creates problems for you, they’re like puzzlesYou see I believe that life creates these problems for you, they’re like puzzles, and the more you solve the more levels you go up. As you go up the problems get harder and the more you solve and the more successful you get you have different and more complex problems to solve. Do you think that someone earning £1,000,000 has no problems? Think again, they have different types of problems. The point is, you should embrace your problems face them and try and solve them. That’s one of the big traits of successful people. Problems are there to make you resourceful and to test your skillsProblems are there to make you resourceful and to test all manner of your skills. Whether you enlist help, do research or call someone. You need to think about the lessons you’ve learnt because of that problem, the next time a similar problems raises its head you’ll be ready for it. The more problems you solve the better you get and that’s how you get to your next level. Anxiety is a signal to take actionThe reason why we experience a plateau is that we've gained a certain level and are good at solving those types of problems at that level. Then all of a sudden a new problem arises and it can put you in a space of anxiety. I used to think that the anxiety was awful and I didn’t know how to manage it. I now use my anxiety as a signal to take action, anxiety is usually that type of signal. The more you move away from it the stronger the anxiety becomes, it’s like to world telling you, you need to face it. It’s so difficult because for many years I had anxiety which leads to depression. It was because I wasn’t listening to the lesson I was trying to avoid the problems rather than trying to solve them! So it’s it just about jumping in sometimes and seeing what happens. Push through behaviours such as perfectionism and over planningJust taking those steps each day and solving problems, if you take enough of those steps you will make progress, you will look back in the next year and see how much you’ve grown, but that means you need to start with the first step and push through behaviours like perfectionism and over planning which can be major causes of anxiety. Now you have a plan and you have a strategy so what are you waiting for, go jump in and give it your best shot and grow.
