“How to Declare War on your Fears” You are not being brave and that’s stopping you getting to the next level of success so step into your bravery, declare war on the fear that you feel. If this speaks to you read on! “As human beings, we need to feel like we are making a difference and making progress!”What a great time to think about this especially when Halloween is around the corner. But apart from the ghouls and made up stuff that’s talked about, there is a real fear in the minds of people that really needs to be faced and challenged every single day. I see the fear on the face of people and they are just living with it and not living their best lives because of fear and the lack of action. I am here to wake you up! Why? Because we need to progress and feel like we are making a difference. “You put up a load of excuses so you don’t have to face your fear”You may feel fear going into a meeting or having to meet a group of people you have never met before. Even today I was in Macdonalds with my beloved and everyone at the table was afraid to take the Coke back because it tasted horrible!! So you should take it back, because they get feedback as to the level of service and you feel good about being brave and making sure that you get what you needed! A win-win! Have you ever felt that fear, where you need to take something back but you haven’t because you were fearful? You put up a load of excuses so you don’t do it and that weakens your ability to deal with fear. So I stepped up and asked for a new Coke, done and I felt great that I did it. It’s those moments over time that define our success! So this whole thing is about facing those types of fears every day, because if you do what appear to be those small things and you face them, when the bigger stuff comes along you are going to be in a much better and stronger position to face them. To recognise those fears that rise up daily and use them as training to prepare for the bigger things that are going to show up in your life. Rest assured they will show up, and when they do you will be prepared and willing to take them on and feel the power of your training.(wow that sounds like a phrase from Star Wars) If you read last week’s blog and the Spartan’s message, “Sweat more in training bleed less in war” you are now declaring war on your FEARS and that’s your training! So let’s go! “Step outside your comfort zone”So step in when you feel the feeling of fear, if you receive feedback that you are not happy with, step into it go and ask the reasons. Step outside your comfort zone, connect with people and reach out to people you wouldn’t normally reach out to. You know when you feel that feeling and that is the sign to go and do that thing. Of course, I am not talking about physical fears like jumping out of a plane without a parachute! You need to take this information and take from it what applies to you, all of you will have different versions of fear and you need to take what works for you, it’s not a fits all approach. “You have been assigned a specific set of problems to solve so you can get to your next level” We all have an individual set of problems that have been set for us to deal with, and some of those problems are about dealing with the fear and stepping into your bravery to have a go at those things. You won’t always win and that’s the point they are there to give you GROWTH. This is what I find amazing! Now the other amazing thing is that there is usually someone in the world that has solved that problem you are currently facing so seek them out! Yes, I know you are going to say, how do I find these people? You have an amazing tool called the internet at your disposal so start doing your research and take on the responsibility for your life and go solve your problems. Yes, you don’t have the resources, yes you don’t have the knowledge yet and that’s the challenge and the problem. So start solving and get to your next level of GROWTH. “Go research successful people they have failed a lot!” If you are in doubtful that successful people don’t fail just research the people who you think are super successful and find out about their story, and you will find that they went through many failures before they hit the big time. We are not all going to be Elon Musk, but he went through massive failures with Space X and the company almost went under. Check out the failures of his space rockets below!! It's even got the Monty Python's Circus Music on it which makes the failures seem funny! Love Elon's sense of humour!! “How do you develop your belief?”To develop your belief and challenge your fear. So how do I develop my belief I hear you cry? Well, if you go back and read this blog then you will know, it's by facing those everyday fears that pop up each day and if you conquer those you will start moving up the levels and will be in a much better position to continue to move your life forward. You will feel super amazing once you face those fears and start to put yourself out there. For me I have just had to face those fears, like doing the videos every day, writing this blog and putting myself out there. Now when I first did this I was fearful, but by being consistent and practising I now feel much more comfortable about putting my content out there and putting out the ideas which I feel will help people. I can now speak from a position of experience because I have done that, you are reading it now and as I am typing I still don’t know how you are going to perceive this blog but that’s the point. So here are some of the things you fear and which hold you back going for your dreams: “Other people opinions don’t matter”1 - The opinion of others! Other people opinions really do not matter! They are nothing to do with you, I love Quincy Jones quote which states “ Not one drop of my self-worth depends on your acceptance of me!” Just awesome, so when you fear other peoples opinion just think of this. Check out the video below, embody this when you feel the opinions! “Not one drop of my self-worth depends on your acceptance of me” - Quincy Jones 2 - Judgement! - People will always judge no matter what you do. Whether you do it or not they are going to judge. I did some dad dancing in the rain and felt the judgement so I did it anyway, who cares what people think, this is me and if you don’t like it then tough! Go somewhere else I don’t need you. I am living my life by who I am, I just have to accept that I am not going to be everyone’s cup of tea! ( I know so very English) If you love what I have to say then read on! “Develop your bravery every day”So there you have it, develop your bravery practice it every day and if you feel that fear in those small moments each day, then try and face it, go do that thing and be proud that you did it. Even if you didn’t face it that time, prepare for the next moment and I promise if you keep practising your Bravery it will take you to levels you never thought possible.
