As I am writing this blog blossom is starting to appear on the trees and the picture this week is of our tree just coming into blossom! It’s amazing to think that just last year this tree had very little blossom but this year it has exploded into growth.
This is what this week’s blog is all about. Much of the time we are just impatient about our growth and we lose patience with ourselves. We don’t give ourselves the time to grow and expect results to happen overnight. The reason for this is that we can have a skewed view of growth or success. We see people succeeding and think it’s growth, but what we haven’t seen is all the hard work and failure they put in to get to where they are. We tend to forget the hardships they may have gone through or we have simply not seen it. When you look at people who have succeeded in a big way they have usually had to fight, fail and make big comebacks to make their growth and success happen! The exciting thing about all this is that you can make small changes over time which will compound over time so you start to get results. Take the tree as an example last year; it was small it and did not have much blossom, but over the winter months it stored it’s energy working hard to retain the energy so it could burst into life right now and this can happen to you. My journey over the last 6 months has been a bit crazy in terms of my own growth, I am now finding my voice in relation to this blog and also the recent inspirationnation podcast which is now out there inspiring people! This has all happened through little actions each day, and creating an intention to focus on my coaching to help others. Six months ago I had no idea about creating a podcast and now it’s happened because Lee really felt inspired to get involved and was able to research and build the podcast. Lee has found his strength, took action and now we get the benefit of that because we are both passionate about helping people, but we recognise our strengths. Now you are seeing the results i.e the birth of the inspirationnation podcast Had I not said this to you, you would have just seen the podcast but not the hard work which has gone into it! So all this comes down to being disciplined each day to make sure you take one action a day that is going to move you towards your dream. Yes, of course your dream may be big, but you have to commit to taking some small actions in each day which are manageable, so you slowly over time start to get results which move your closer to the dream! When you get the results you examine them, then take actions that next day that feed into that big goal or vision you have. This is what is happening right now with Lee and I, and you are following this journey, and we can all get excited! This is what growth is all about, stretching yourself and making yourself take action which may feel uncomfortable, but in the end you know you have to do it, to get the results you want. However, it happens over time not in an instant, so be patient. It took me six months to get to this stage! So here are a few tips to get your started: 1 - Decide what it is you want to achieve, then commit to taking at least one action each day that helps you get there! 2 - Record it somewhere so you can track your progress. (So I have my journal which I review each day! Every Monday on Instagram I do a live feed and do a weekly review, and you could review yours just like that to see how much progress you have made. If you don’t record your progress then you can’t draw on anything when you are feeling challenged. 3 - Tell someone you trust what you are doing and get them to check in with you, say once a month so you can let them know how you are getting on. So there you go another blog done for this week and I hope it inspires you into action. Writing this blog is my weekly action over the last six months!!! Don’t forget to leave a comment! Spread the inspirationnation word and love, you are an important part of this community. Every action and comment counts so start now and leave a comment here, let’s do this! #inspirationnation
